On June 27 2021, I posted an article on the Terror at Collinwood blog showcasing my friend Eric Marshall’s fantastic Hanna-Barbera-inspired model sheets for a non-existent Dark Shadows animated series from the 1970s. You can check that out RIGHT HERE. Those faux model sheets went over very well with many fans. Eric’s cartoon designs have popped up all over social media in the last four-plus years. Among other things, I’ve seen them printed out and pasted into fan birthday and get-well cards, repurposed for digital fan art creations, 3D printed as miniature resin figurines, and used on t-shirts.

During the time of the initial blog post, Eric and I had a lot of fun speculating about what a 1970s DS animated TV show might have been like. After the article was posted, Eric mentioned that he’d like to draw some more of the show’s characters, and we talked about candidates who’d be good choices for the “cartoon treatment”. Despite the fact that Eric is an intensely busy guy with very little spare time on his hands, I couldn’t help but excitedly mention just about every character who ever appeared in Dark Shadows. Sorry, Eric! haha.

Recently, Eric surprised me with a wonderful Halloween treat - a phenomenal Count Petofi and Aristede model sheet design! After that, he sent several additional, and equally incredible, cartoon illustrations.
